Organizers
of Dade Christian School’s annual “Get Acquainted Day,” held at the
Northwest Miami-Dade Campus on August 17, 2012, deemed the event a major
success. Get Acquainted Day provides students and parents opportunity
to become more familiar with the school’s academic program, facilities
and faculty. "Students met their new teachers and visited with
classmates old and new, while family members toured our school to learn
about the upcoming school year," said Maritza Rosado, elementary school
principal.
This year, Get Acquainted Day showcased the school's new and improved Crusader Café. "Parents set up cafeteria accounts for students, and purchased uniforms for physical education classes,” said Matthew Annett, high school principal. “Our used uniform sales were a big hit, since parents can purchase school clothing at a significant discount.” Students and their parents also spent the day admiring the newly renovated cafeteria.

Another exciting discovery was the soon-to-open David Rodriguez Fitness Center where students will enjoy exercising at the school campus. Freshman and sophomore students learned of the new technology coming their way: They will be using Apple iPads for core classes such as science, math, history, English, and Bible courses. Parents and students also were excited to learn that Dade Christian School will feature school-wide Wi-Fi.
Alumni also returned to their Alma Mater to enjoy the festivities, giving them the opportunity to pass down to the students their much appreciated wisdom from so many years spent at Dade Christian School.
“Get Acquainted Day is a great time for school administrators as well,” said Craig Konchak, Dade Christian School’s Director of Development. “This is one of my favorite annual events since it marks the first time that students, parents and faculty are reunited after what seems like an endless summer.”
